It’s The Occupation Release Day!
Today marks an incredibly important milestone for our team. 4 years ago this month we released our first title, Ether One and now we’re ready to launch our second game, The Occupation.
4 years in the making…
What an incredible and tough journey it’s been! With our team we’ve created something above and beyond what we thought would be possible. We’ve put a lot of work into building a world that’s tactile and detailed, creating a narrative we think has a unique approach and an approach to NPCs we may not usually find in games.
As reviews start to come in we’re receiving incredibly divisive feedback – some love the world and the narrative drive whilst others see it as a poor presentation. We’re also experiencing some AI issues that recently surfaced most likely due to our inexperienced approach to patching.
Whilst a lot of these are easily fixable with a few patches over release month, there’s a lot of feedback in the reviews to dissect and pull apart for future projects. We will of course be continuing support and listening to players about anything in the game they found frustrating or immersion breaking and we believe we have a good process in place to get the fixes completed quickly.
With all that said, we’d absolutely love for you to pick up a copy of The Occupation. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of and we don’t say that lightly. It’s taken a massive push over these 4 years and every single person on the team absolutely crushed it. We’re proud of our achievements and whilst day one issues are unfortunately present, they can and will be addressed to deliver the vision of the game we have in mind for you to experience and lose yourself in.
If you’re the day one purchaser, sincerely, thank you so much. If you’re sitting on the fence waiting to decide, we hope we address any concerns you may have over the coming months
Thank you,
The White Paper team
